Workers at the Massachusetts museum established by Eric Carle, the artist behind The Very Hungry Caterpillar, are pushing to unionize and calling for a vote, Hyperallergic reports.

In a statement, staff cited poor working conditions and under-staffing as the reasons for organizing. The museum is devoted to picture book art, a field long overlooked by mainstream museums and one in which Carle, who died in 2021, was among the world's most widely read figures.
