Simon Fujiwara Probes the Attention Economy in Mudam Career Survey

Mudam Luxembourg is presenting a career survey of Simon Fujiwara, an artist born in London in 1982 who has built a reputation for work probing memory, identity, and the mechanisms behind historical narrative-making. To mark the show, Fujiwara spoke with critic Tom Denman for ArtAsiaPacific. In the interview, he discusses the enduring "afterlife" of Anne Frank, a figure whose posthumous cultural and media presence he has previously examined in his work, and reflects on growing up, in his words, "at the end of the world" — a nod to his formative years far from major art centers.
