Autograf
Autograf is a private design school based in Paris, active since the 1980s. It offers post-baccalaureate professional courses in design, built around project-based practice, workshops led by professionals from the field, and internship or work-study periods.
Disciplines
The offering covers several major areas of contemporary design:
- Graphic design and visual communication: visual identity, publishing, typography, art direction, digital design and motion design;
- Space design and interior architecture: fit-out, scenography, retail and temporary spaces;
- Game art, animation and 3D: visual design of video games, character and environment design, animation, effects and 3D production.
The programs generally begin with a preparatory or foundation year (drawing, colour, volume, visual culture, digital tools), before progressive specialization and a diploma project.
Strengths and points of caution
The school highlights its professionalizing dimension: industry software, workshops, real-world commissions, support toward employment. Its Parisian location facilitates access to studios, agencies and companies in the sector.
As with any private school, it is recommended to check directly with the institution the exact status of the diplomas (State recognition, RNCP registration, level awarded) for the intended program, the admission procedures (application file, portfolio, interview) as well as tuition fees, which change from year to year. A visit during open house days also allows one to assess the workshops and student work.
