Les Beaux-Arts de Marseille — École supérieure d'art et de design Marseille-Méditerranée (ESADMM) — is the city's public higher art school, attached to the INSEAMM institution. Heir to a long tradition of artistic education in Marseille, the school awards national diplomas recognized by the Ministry of Culture: the DNA (bachelor's degree level) and the DNSEP (master's degree level).

Training and disciplines

The pedagogy is based on a general first cycle, in which students experiment broadly, followed by a progressive specialization in Art and Design. The curriculum combines studio practice, theoretical courses (art history, aesthetics, English) and individualized project mentoring, with assessments and a diploma defended before a jury.

The school has technical workshops covering a wide spectrum: volume and materials, ceramics, metal and wood, printmaking and screen printing, photography, video and sound, digital imagery, publishing and seriality. Workshops with guest artists and designers, exhibitions and partnerships with Marseille's cultural institutions are part of the curriculum.

Setting

Teaching takes place mainly on the Luminy campus, in the southern districts of Marseille, in the immediate vicinity of the Calanques massif and neighboring other higher education institutions, including the school of architecture and the faculty of sciences. This environment, both academic and natural, strongly shapes the student experience, complemented by the school's anchoring in an active Mediterranean art scene open to the international stage.
