Ecole des Beaux-Arts Nantes Saint-Nazaire - Site de Saint-Nazaire

L'École des Beaux-Arts Nantes Saint-Nazaire is a public institution of higher arts education under the supervision of the ministère de la Culture, formed from the merger of the école de Nantes and the école d'arts de Saint-Nazaire. It operates across two complementary sites, with a shared teaching staff and resources.

The Saint-Nazaire site hosts a course of study leading to the Diplôme National d'Art (DNA), a diploma at bachelor's level, in the Art option. The training combines a core of visual practices — drawing, painting, three-dimensional work, photography, video, sound, publishing, installation, digital practices — with theoretical teaching (art history, aesthetics, visual culture) and periods of personal research in the studio. Individualized follow-up, workshops with invited artists, and collective assessments structure the students' progression.

The school stands out for its rootedness in a territory marked by the port, the shipbuilding industry, and post-war architecture, a context frequently drawn upon by student projects. The site's modest size fosters close mentorship and regular access to technical workshops.
