Presentation

The École nationale supérieure d'art de Dijon (ENSA Dijon) is a public institution of higher artistic education under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. Like other French higher art schools, it awards diplomas recognized at the European level: the DNA (Diplôme national d'art, bachelor's degree level) after three years, then the DNSEP (master's degree level) after five years.

Disciplines

The curriculum is organized around two main tracks: Art and Design d'espace. After a common general first year, students deepen their practice in technical workshops: drawing, painting, volume and sculpture, photography, video, sound, editing and printed images, as well as model-making, spatial representation, and digital tools.

The teaching combines practical workshops, theoretical courses (art history, aesthetics, project culture) and individual monitoring of personal work, with a central role given to semester reviews and the progressive development of an author's approach. The school also develops research and postgraduate activities, as well as projects carried out with cultural partners.

Environment

Dijon offers a favorable context for contemporary art, notably with the art center Le Consortium and the musée des Beaux-Arts, sources of collaborations, internships and professional encounters for students.

Figures linked to the school

The painter Yan Pei-Ming, an internationally renowned figure in contemporary painting, studied at the Beaux-Arts de Dijon before teaching there.
