The École nationale supérieure d'art et de design de Limoges (ENSA Limoges) is a public institution of higher education under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. Successor to the former École nationale des arts décoratifs de Limoges, it is one of the national art schools distributed across French territory.

Programs

The school awards the national diplomas of the art curriculum: the DNA (Diplôme national d'art, bachelor's level) after three years, then the DNSEP (master's level) after five years. Teaching is organized around two main tracks, Art and Design, preceded by a first generalist year devoted to fundamentals (drawing, color, volume, photography, digital images, artistic culture).

Strengths

The school's identity is closely tied to the Limousin region and its industrial and artisanal history: ceramics and the fire arts hold an important place in the workshops and research projects, alongside materials work, publishing, digital practices, and object design. The school has technical workshops overseen by specialized assistants and develops collaborations with local players in the ceramics sector and regional cultural institutions.

As in other national art schools, admission to the first year is by entrance competition, with an application file and interview; entry at later stages of the curriculum is possible through an equivalency committee.
