Ecole supérieure d'art annecy alpes

Presentation

École supérieure d'art Annecy Alpes (ESAAA) is a public institution of higher art education located in Annecy, Haute-Savoie. It is part of the network of higher art schools under the supervision of the ministère de la Culture and awards recognized national diplomas.

Programs

The curriculum is organized in two stages: the DNA (Diplôme National d'Art, bac+3) followed by the DNSEP (Diplôme National Supérieur d'Expression Plastique, bac+5, equivalent to a master's degree). The school offers Art and Design options, allowing for paths oriented toward contemporary plastic practices as well as toward space and object design.

Teaching is based on the art school model: studio work, individual monitoring of the personal project, theoretical courses (art history, aesthetics), technical practices (volume, image, publishing, digital), and semester reviews before a panel of teachers, often practicing artists or designers.

Strengths

ESAAA develops a research and publication activity (editions, seminars, residencies), bringing together advanced students, teachers and outside contributors. Its modest size fosters close mentoring and an intense studio life.

The Alpine and cross-border context (proximity to Genève, the Grand Genève and the Lake Geneva art scene) feeds exhibitions, workshops and international exchanges.

Who it is for

Candidates seeking a human-scale public art school, demanding in the construction of a personal approach rather than in strictly professionalizing training.
