ECOLE SUPERIEURE D'ART ET DE DESIGN DE REIMS
L'ESAD Reims is a public institution of higher artistic education, under the supervision of the ministère de la Culture. It prepares students for the national diplomas in the art and design curriculum: the DNA (bachelor's level, over three years) followed by the DNSEP (master's level, over two years).
The school is characterized by the coexistence of two options, Art and Design, which allows for exchanges between artistic practices and design projects. In art, emphasis is placed on experimentation with mediums (drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, video, sound, installation) and on the construction of a personal approach. In design, teaching covers notably graphic design and object design, with attention paid to materials, manufacturing processes, and contexts of use.
As in French higher art schools, the pedagogy is based on the studio, individualized mentoring, workshops with outside speakers, and semester reviews before a jury. The technical workshops (wood, metal, sculpture, screen printing, publishing, digital, photo/video) constitute an important support for project work.
ESAD Reims also develops research and partnership activities, as well as international mobility within the European framework. Its location in Reims, in a territory marked by artisanal and industrial expertise, fosters collaborations with regional economic and cultural players.
Admission is by entrance examination (portfolio of works and interview), with possible transfers during the course of studies.
