The École supérieure d'art et de design TALM-Angers is one of the three sites of the public institution TALM (Tours, Angers, Le Mans), a higher art school under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and supported by local authorities. Heir to the École des beaux-arts d'Angers, it awards the national degrees of the artistic curriculum: the DNA (bachelor's degree level, over three years) then the DNSEP (master's degree level, over five years).

Disciplines and strengths

The Angers site articulates teaching in art and design, with the fundamentals of an art school: drawing, volume and sculpture, image, photography, video, sound, publishing, as well as technical workshops (wood, metal, moulding, ceramics, digital).

Its most recognized specificity is the conservation-restoration of sculpted works: TALM-Angers is among the small number of French institutions authorized to train conservator-restorers, which requires training combining studio practice, materials science, art history and heritage ethics.

The pedagogy is based on individual monitoring of the personal project, workshops with invited artists and professionals, partnerships with museums, heritage institutions and exhibition venues in the region, as well as international mobility.

Good to know

Admission is based on application and interview, with presentation of a portfolio; the entrance examination for the first year is accessible via Parcoursup. Bridges allow entry into the school during the course of study after initial artistic training.
