EESAB (Bretagne)

Presentation

The EESAB (École européenne supérieure d'art de Bretagne) is a public institution of higher art education under the supervision of the Ministère de la Culture. It was born from the merger of the art schools of Rennes, Brest, Lorient and Quimper, brought together within a single institution while each retained its own site, identity and studios.

Programmes

The school awards the national diplomas of the art curriculum: the DNA (bachelor's level, 3 years) then the DNSEP (master's level, 5 years), offered depending on the site in the Art, Design and Communication options. The Rennes site is the largest within the institution.

The pedagogy is based on the studio and the personal project: individualized guidance, workshops with guest artists and designers, semester reviews, thesis and diploma. The technical workshops cover in particular drawing, painting, sculpture and volume, ceramics, printmaking and screen printing, photography, video, sound, as well as digital tools and fabrication.

Strengths
