ENSAD Limoges

ENSAD Limoges is a higher school of art and design under the supervision of the Ministère de la Culture. It awards the national diplomas of the artistic curriculum: DNA (bachelor's level) after three years, then DNSEP (master's level) after five years, in art and design.

Its identity is strongly linked to the region's industrial and craft history: porcelain and, more broadly, the fire arts. Ceramics holds a central place there, with specialized technical workshops (clay, mold, glazes, firing) that are rare in the landscape of French art schools. The school has also maintained a historical connection with tapestry and textiles, in relation to the Aubusson tradition.

Beyond ceramics, the training covers contemporary visual practices: volume, installation, image, publishing, sound and video, as well as object design and material-based approaches. The pedagogy combines technical workshops, personal project supervision, and theoretical teachings (art history, aesthetics).

Limoges also hosts an ecosystem dedicated to ceramic arts (musée national Adrien-Dubouché, research and residency structures on the fire arts), which fosters collaborations, residencies, and exchanges with professionals and companies in the sector.

Admission is by entrance examination, or by application and interview for entry mid-curriculum.
