ESRA - Nice

Introduction

ESRA (École Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle) is a private institution for teaching cinema and audiovisual studies, founded in the early 1970s in Paris. The network subsequently expanded with several campuses, including the one in Nice, located at the heart of a region where audiovisual production and studios have a long-standing presence.

Programs and strengths

The main curriculum runs over three years and aims to train students in the trades of filmmaking: writing and screenwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, and production. Teaching is strongly oriented towards practice, with exercises and filmed projects throughout the program, supervised by instructors from the professional field.

Depending on the campus, the ESRA network also offers specialized tracks such as sound (ISTS) and animation / CGI (Sup'Infograph); it is therefore recommended to check directly with the Nice campus which specializations are available for the intended year.

As a private school, ESRA charges tuition fees and selects candidates based on their application and an interview, generally after the baccalauréat. Before applying, check the level of recognition of the diploma awarded (RNCP registration, equivalencies) as well as the terms for internships and professional integration.
