L'ESRA Paris

L'ESRA (École Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle) is a private institution of higher education founded in the early 1970s and specialized in film and audiovisual professions. Its historic campus is located in Paris, in the 14th arrondissement, and the network includes other locations in France and in Brussels.

Programs and disciplines

The main curriculum is a three-year program that covers the entire film-making chain: writing and screenwriting, directing, image and lighting, editing, sound, production. Teaching combines theoretical courses (history and analysis of cinema, aesthetics, industry economics) with intensive practical shooting work, through exercises and then graduation films.

The school also houses two specialized departments well recognized in the French landscape:

• l'ISTS, dedicated to sound professions (sound recording, mixing, audio post-production, music for image);
• Sup'Infograph, dedicated to animation, computer-generated imagery, and visual effects.

Specialization tracks and master's-level programs complete the offering depending on the campus.
