Lycée Charles Péguy, in Orléans, is one of the institutions in the Centre-Val de Loire region offering higher education in applied arts. Alongside its lycée programmes, it hosts a DN MADE (Diplôme national des métiers d'art et du design) mention Espace, with admission via Parcoursup.

Programme and pedagogical approach

The DN MADE mention Espace takes place over three years and leads to a diploma at bachelor's degree level. It prepares students for professions related to the arrangement and scenography of spaces: interior spaces, interior architecture, exhibition design, event design, commercial fitting-out, and the enhancement of heritage sites or locations.

The pedagogy combines project-based teaching (surveys, plans, models, drawing and representation, 3D modelling) with humanities and design cultures (history of art, design and architecture), techniques and materials, and expression tools (drawing, photography, visual communication). As in all DN MADE programmes, the curriculum includes internship periods in agencies or workshops, project-based work and, in the final year, a dissertation accompanied by a personal end-of-studies project.

After the programme

The diploma enables professional integration into space design, scenography or interior architecture agencies, or further studies through a DSAA, a master's degree, or a higher school of art and design.
