Lycée Choiseul

Lycée Choiseul is a public educational institution located in Tours, within the Orléans-Tours académie. Like many multi-purpose lycées, it combines secondary education (general, technological and vocational) with a higher education branch that welcomes students after the baccalauréat.

In the field of design, the institution prepares students for the DN MADE mention Mode, a national diploma in arts and crafts and design awarded over three years and conferring the status of licence. This program is aimed at baccalauréat holders interested in the creation of clothing and accessories, and takes place within a lycée setting: small class sizes, close supervision, a regular studio-based rhythm.

The teaching in a DN MADE Mode generally combines visual and graphic practices (drawing, colour, image research), culture of the arts, design and fashion, garment technologies (patternmaking, draping, construction, textile materials) and project methodology. Students work on projects, with periods of research, prototyping and presentation, as well as an internship and a diploma project in the third year.

The diploma allows for professional integration in design studios, styling, patternmaking or related fields (materials, accessories, fashion imagery), or further studies at the master's level, in a higher art and design school, or in specialized training.

Admission is through Parcoursup, based on an application including a portfolio of personal work.
