Lycée Des Arènes

Overview

Lycée des Arènes is a public school in Toulouse, well known in Occitanie for its higher education hub dedicated to audiovisual production and graphic design. It is one of the public institutions that, alongside general and technological programs, host post-baccalaureate sections accessible via Parcoursup.

Programs and strengths

The school offers several tracks of the BTS Métiers de l'audiovisuel, notably métiers de l'image (camera work, lighting) and montage et post-production, as well as a DN MADE mention Graphisme. This coexistence of moving image and graphic design fosters a broad visual culture and cross-disciplinary projects.

The teaching relies heavily on hands-on studio practice: shooting sets, control rooms, editing and post-production rooms for audiovisual work; editorial design, visual identity, typography and digital media workshops for graphic design. The curricula include internships and commissioned projects, which bring students closer to Toulouse's professional network (audiovisual production, television, communication agencies, cultural sector).

Who it's for

The audiovisual BTS programs are selective and expect motivated candidates who are technically curious and have some prior film culture; a portfolio or personal work is generally valued. The DN MADE Graphisme, a three-year, bachelor's-level program, is aimed particularly at students from a bac STD2A, a general bac, or a preparatory year in applied arts, and allows further study in a DSAA or an art and design higher education school.
