The Lycée des métiers de la céramique Henry Moisand, located in Longchamp in Côte-d'Or (near Dijon), is one of the few French public institutions entirely dedicated to the ceramics trades. Labeled "lycée des métiers," it combines technical training, material culture, and workshop practice in a human-scale setting, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region.

Programs and strengths

The institution offers a progressive pathway ranging from professional ceramics diplomas (CAP, baccalauréat professionnel) up to higher education with the DN MADE mention Objet, oriented toward ceramic object design and product design.

The strengths lie in the specialized workshops: throwing, modeling, molding and casting, decoration, paste formulation, glazes and firing. Students learn to move from design intent to concrete realization, mastering the technical constraints specific to clay and fire.

The pedagogy combines project culture, drawing, form research, and material experimentation, with attention paid to both craft know-how and the contemporary challenges of object design (series, editions, materials, sustainable development).
