Lycée Henri Loritz

Introduction

Lycée Henri Loritz is a large public school in Nancy, historically oriented towards technological and industrial fields. It brings together under one roof secondary education programs (general and technological tracks) and a higher education division comprising scientific preparatory classes, BTS programs, and DN MADE programs.

Design and Applied Arts

The design division there prepares students for the DN MADE (Diplôme national des métiers d'art et du design), a bachelor's-level diploma completed over three years, with two specializations: Espace and Objet.

The Espace specialization covers interior design, scenography, public space, and interior architecture; the Objet specialization deals with product, furniture, use, and materials. In both cases, the program combines culture in the arts, design and techniques, project workshops, drawing and representation, model-making and prototyping, digital tools (CAD, 3D, image), as well as an internship and a thesis in the final year.

Strengths

Being located within a technical high school provides access to workshops and manufacturing resources, and fosters an approach to design attentive to materials and implementation. The diploma allows for professional integration or further studies in DSAA, master's programs, or design schools.

Admission

Recruitment via Parcoursup, following a general or technological baccalaureate (particularly STD2A) or a preparatory year in applied arts; the application file and personal work are decisive factors.
