Le lycée Jean Perrin is a public school located in Marseille. Alongside its general and technological programs, it welcomes higher education students, including a DN MADE mention Objet (Diplôme national des métiers d'art et du design), a three-year program conferring the grade of licence.

The DN MADE Objet

The Objet track orients work towards the design of objects and products: research into forms, uses and materials, ergonomics, the relationship to the body and to domestic space, questions of production and eco-design. The pedagogy combines project-based teaching in the studio, plastic and representational practices (drawing, volume, model-making, digital tools) and theoretical courses (history of design and the arts, materials culture, science and technology, languages, methodology).

As in all DN MADE programs, the curriculum is organized around phases of discovery, deepening and then specialization, with internship periods in a company or workshop and a diploma project in the third year.

Guidelines for applying

Recruitment takes place via Parcoursup, based on an application file (transcripts, motivation statement, often personal work or a portfolio depending on the published requirements). Applicants' profiles vary: bac STD2A, general bac, or a year of preparatory training in applied arts.

As a public institution, the program has a schooling cost limited to university registration fees, a point worth considering when comparing with private design schools.
