Lycée la Tourrache

Lycée La Tourrache is a public institution in the Toulon metropolitan area (Var) that, alongside its general and technological programs, hosts a higher education hub in design and craft trades.

Programs

The institution offers several tracks of the DN MADE (Diplôme national des métiers d'art et du design), a bachelor's-level diploma over three years:

  • Graphisme: visual identity, typography, publishing, digital design and communication.
  • Espace: interior architecture, scenography, spatial design and relationship to territory.
  • Objet: product, materials, volume, prototyping and design process.

Approach

As in most DN MADE programs hosted in public lycées, the pedagogy combines project workshops, theoretical teaching (culture of arts, design and techniques), technologies and languages, with internship periods and an end-of-program project. The setting remains that of a lycée: modest cohort sizes, close monitoring, enrollment costs limited to university fees.

Who it's for

Admission takes place via Parcoursup, with review of the application and, generally, a portfolio of personal work. The DN MADE allows for direct professional integration or continuation into a master's, DSAA, or higher school of art and design.

It is advisable to check with the institution each year which tracks and pathways are actually open.
