Lycée Le Corbusier

Presentation

Lycée Le Corbusier is a public educational institution located in Poissy, in the Yvelines department, on the western outskirts of Île-de-France. Alongside its general and technological tracks, it hosts a higher education pole in applied arts offering the DN MADE (Diplôme National des Métiers d'Art et du Design), a bachelor's-level diploma completed in three years.

Educational Orientation

The specialization offered is Matériaux, one of the fourteen specializations of the DN MADE. It places material at the center of the design project: knowledge and behavior of materials, implementation, workshop experimentation, fabrication and prototyping. Students develop a project approach articulating artistic research, technical dimension and usage issues, with growing attention paid to environmental questions and reuse.

As in all DN MADE programs, the training combines theoretical teaching (culture of arts, design and techniques), workshop practice, internships and a final-year project. The diploma enables professional integration or continued studies at master's level, in an art or design school.

The institution, whose name refers to the architect Le Corbusier, is located in the city that houses the Villa Savoye, a major work of the modern movement.
