Lycée Polyvalent Jean Monnet

Overview

The lycée polyvalent Jean Monnet is a public educational institution located in Yzeure, in the Allier department (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), in the immediate vicinity of Moulins. Alongside its general, technological and vocational tracks, it hosts a higher education unit in design and craft trades, making it one of the region's entry points for applied arts studies outside major metropolitan areas.

Programmes

The institution offers the DN MADE (Diplôme national des métiers d'art et du design), a three-year course conferring the grade of licence, with several specializations:

• Matériaux — approach to materials, processing methods, know-how and experimentation;
• Objet — product design, from form to use, in connection with manufacturing;
• Numérique — interface design, images and interactive media.

Who this is for

The DN MADE recruits through Parcoursup, mainly after a general baccalauréat (with or without an arts specialization), a STD2A baccalauréat or a preparatory year. A portfolio of personal work is generally expected. Upon completion of the diploma, students may enter the job market or continue on to a DSAA, an art school or a master's degree.
