Lycée polyvalent Raphaël Elizé

Overview

Lycée polyvalent Raphaël Elizé is a public educational institution located in Sablé-sur-Sarthe, in the department of Sarthe (Pays de la Loire region). It bears the name of Raphaël Élizé, a veterinarian and former mayor of Sablé-sur-Sarthe, who was deported and died in a concentration camp.

Like most polyvalent lycées, it combines general, technological and vocational programs, as well as short higher education pathways. It is within this framework that it offers a design program: the DN MADE mention Objet, a national diploma in art and design accessible via Parcoursup and awarded at bachelor's degree level, over three years.

The DN MADE Objet

This program prepares students for careers in product and object design: research into forms and uses, the design of furniture, functional objects, accessories or devices.

The program generally combines theoretical teaching (design culture, art history, technology, humanities, foreign language), studio practice (drawing, model-making, prototyping, materials, digital tools) and project-based work, with internship periods and a final-year project.

Upon completion of the DN MADE, students may enter professional life (agencies, design firms, companies, freelance work) or continue on to a DSAA, a master's degree, or an art or design school.
