Lycée professionnel Poinso-Chapuis

Le lycée Poinso-Chapuis is a public institution in Marseille that, beyond its vocational training programs, hosts short-cycle higher education sections in the field of audiovisual studies.

Profile

The school prepares students for the BTS Métiers de l'audiovisuel, a nationally recognized diploma that trains technicians who are directly operational on set, in studio, and in post-production. Two tracks are offered:

• Montage et post-production: editing scriptwriting, professional software, color grading, mixing and finishing, management of file flows and formats;
• Gestion de la production: shoot preparation and follow-up, budgets and work schedules, rights, contracts and production management, coordination of technical teams.

Strengths

The training is organized around projects and practical exercises, with internship periods in companies that play an important role in professional integration. The curriculum combines technical instruction, audiovisual and cinematographic culture, applied physical sciences, business economics and management, and English.

The location in Marseille is an asset: the metropolitan area concentrates significant filming activity (fiction, series, documentaries, advertising) as well as a network of production companies and technical service providers, which facilitates internships and first contracts.

Admission is through Parcoursup. Applications value motivation, a culture of image and sound, and often personal work (edits, short films, filming experience). The BTS allows for a quick entry into the profession, but also further studies toward a licence professionnelle or in a specialized school.
