Lycée Suger

Overview

Lycée Suger, a public institution located in Saint-Denis, in Seine-Saint-Denis, is best known for its audiovisual hub, one of the most identified in secondary and post-secondary education in Île-de-France. It offers both general and technological programs as well as higher technician sections recruiting through Parcoursup.

Programs and strengths

The core of its post-secondary offering is the BTS Métiers de l'audiovisuel, available in several options offered at the same site:

• Gestion de la production (production, stage management, administration of audiovisual projects);
• Techniques d'ingénierie et exploitation des équipements (technical chain, capture, broadcasting);
• Montage et post-production (editing, color grading, finalization);
• an additional option of the same BTS, focused on image or sound trades depending on the year.

This configuration is an asset: students from the different options work on shared projects, in a manner close to real filming and post-production teams. The training combines technical instruction, visual and narrative culture, and periods of internship in companies, with possible integration into production, television, technical services, or event production.

The location, in close proximity to Paris and the audiovisual hub of Plaine Saint-Denis, facilitates internships and professional encounters. Admission to the BTS is selective: the application file, motivation, and a personal cinematic and audiovisual culture matter.

After the BTS, common continuing studies include licence professionnelle, licence cinéma, or specialized schools.
