Prép'art

Prép'art (Paris)

Prép'art is a private preparatory class for entrance exams to art and design schools. Created in the 2000s, it has developed across several cities, including Paris and Toulouse, and is aimed primarily at high school graduates (or students seeking reorientation) who wish to build a solid artistic portfolio before sitting entrance exams.

Objective and method

The program, organized over one year, combines practical workshops and theoretical input. Emphasis is placed on building a personal portfolio and preparing for written and oral exams: presentation of work, argumentation, interview with a jury.

Disciplines

The teaching generally covers drawing (observational, expressive, perspective), color, volume and space, photography, moving image, digital tools, as well as art history and culture. Workshops, exhibition outings, and individual follow-up sessions are often added.

Career paths targeted

Students prepare for entrance exams to national and regional art schools (Beaux-Arts, regional art schools), design and applied arts schools, as well as applications for the DN MADE or private animation and design schools.

To check before applying

As this is a private institution that does not award diplomas, it is advisable to inquire directly about tuition fees, admission procedures, hours of instruction, and the previous class's admission results, then compare with public preparatory classes in the APPEA network.
