Université d'Evry Val d'Essonne

Overview

The Université d'Évry Val d'Essonne is a public multidisciplinary university created in the early 1990s as part of the university development of the new towns of Île-de-France. Based in Évry-Courcouronnes, it is today a constituent institution of the Université Paris-Saclay, which places its degrees within a scientific network of international scope.

Profile

The institution covers a wide range of fields: science and technology, law, economics and management, languages, humanities and social sciences. It is notably recognized for its activities related to life sciences and genomics, in connection with the scientific ecosystem established in Évry.

Performing Arts

In the artistic field, the university offers a licence Arts du spectacle, attached to the humanities and social sciences division. This is a theoretical and methodological university program: history and aesthetics of theatre and performing arts, analysis of performances and dramatic texts, dramaturgy, an introduction to practice, and knowledge of the professions of the performing arts.

This type of program is aimed at students who wish to build a solid academic foundation before specializing at the master's level (theatre studies, cultural mediation, cultural project management, teaching) or supplementing their studies with practical training at a conservatoire or a higher school of dramatic art.
