Université Paris- Est-Créteil Val de Marne - UPEC (Paris 12)

The Université Paris-Est Créteil Val-de-Marne (UPEC, formerly Paris 12) is a multidisciplinary public university based mainly in Créteil, with several sites in Val-de-Marne and Seine-et-Marne. It covers a very wide range of fields: law, economics and management, humanities and languages, social sciences, science and technology, health, educational sciences, as well as several IUTs and an in-house engineering school.

In this landscape, programs close to the arts and creative fields fall mainly under the humanities, letters, communication, and digital technology. The ADM portal notably highlights a DEUST Bureautique et Communication Multimédia, a short, professionally oriented program focused on office tools, content production, and multimedia communication — a profile that is more technical and versatile than artistic in the sense of art schools.

The appeal of a university like UPEC lies in its public framework: low tuition fees, bridges between disciplines, the possibility of continuing on to a licence and then a master's, and immediate proximity to Paris (accessible by metro from Créteil).

If your project is clearly visual, graphic, or audiovisual, compare these programs with those offered by art schools and BUT/DN MADE tracks. Always check the exact offerings for the current year on the university's website and on Parcoursup, as program titles change regularly.
