On the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary, the Bibliothèque Germaine-Tillion offers its visitors an exhibition designed with the Fonds d'art contemporain - Paris collections, proposing four dialogues between works from 1976 and works by emerging artists. The Trocadéro library, named Germaine Tillion in 2010, opened its doors in 1976 in the immediate vicinity of the Place du Trocadéro. On the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary, it is partnering with the Fonds d'art contemporain - Paris collections to offer an exhibition to its visitors. It thus echoes the initiative of Jean Nouvel who, as the library's decorator in 1976, had chosen eight "Pompiers" paintings and two statues from the reserves of the Petit-Palais and the Fonds municipal d'art contemporain (which became Fonds d'art contemporain - Paris collections in 2019), which were exhibited until the end of the 1980s. To celebrate this anniversary, the Fonds d'art contemporain presents a selection of works acquired in the 1970s, set alongside works by emerging artists. They will thus form four duos in dialogue around their aesthetics, their subject, their colors or their technique.
