Join us for a special open house day, at the dawn of a season like no other, as IVT will be blowing out 50 candles in 2027! Come discover the new season in preview, dive into our history, take part in workshops and awareness trails, join our rummage sale… and share with us what has driven us for half a century. From 10am to 6:30pm – Free admission, with LSF/FR interpreters present. Whether you are a culture enthusiast, a professional or simply curious, this day is the ideal opportunity to share a unique moment with us… and even catch a glimpse of our next creation! Workshops and trails, free, booking required: 1. Tour of IVT a. 10:30am: tour in French – Departure: meeting point (lobby) – 30-45 min – 10 people maximum b. 2pm: tour in LSF – Departure: meeting point (lobby) – 30-45 min – 10 people Dive into the history of IVT, from its founding to its move to the cité Chaptal, through a guided tour offered in French Sign Language or in spoken French. 2. Storytelling workshop for children in LSF 11:30am – Meet at the meeting point (lobby) – 45 min – Ages 6 and up – 15 people maximum Accompanied by a Deaf artist, children rediscover their favorite stories in LSF and learn a few signs so they can tell the story themselves in turn. 3. Children's game trail in LSF a. 10:45am – Departure from the training stand (lobby) – 30 min – Ages 6 and up – 10 people maximum b. 4:45pm – Departure from the training stand (lobby) – 30 min – Ages 6 and up – 10 people maximum A playful trail led by the Deaf trainers of the Training department, allowing children to immerse themselves in sign language. 4. Deaf culture awareness trail a. 12:15pm – Departure from the training stand (lobby) – 30 min – Ages 16 and up – 10 people maximum b. 3:30pm – Departure from the training stand (lobby) – 30 min – Ages 16 and up – 10 people maximum An immersion to understand what "not hearing" means and to discover Deaf culture with our trainers. 5. Theater workshop 3pm – Meet at the meeting point in the lobby – 30 min – Ages 6 and up – 15 people maximum A workshop to understand how to tell a story or convey emotions through body movements and facial expressions. 6. Sign-singing workshop: IVT's Deaf anthem 4pm – Meet at the meeting point in the lobby – 45 min – Ages 6 and up – 15 people maximum Discover a typically Deaf art form: sign-singing (chansigne). Get introduced to IVT's Deaf anthem alongside a Deaf facilitator. 7. Sign language happy hour 5:30pm – Mezzanine – 1 hour – 10 people maximum A friendly moment to practice sign language over a drink and games, whatever your level. Registration and ticketing available on site. · Rummage sale, exhibition and publications stand 10am-1pm / 2pm-6:30pm – Salle Alfredo Corrado IVT will be selling costumes, props and posters from past shows, and offers an exhibition of posters from its most memorable creations. You will also be able to discover or rediscover video excerpts from these creations. The publications stand will present its latest books, available for purchase, as well as older editions at discounted prices. An activity on the theme of Deaf history will also be offered!
