The Practice Workshops allow families to share in the discovery of a photographic technique or approach. Accompanied by photographer Guillaume Pallat, let your creativity express itself! On the occasion of the exhibition La photographie en toutes lettres, this family workshop invites us to turn our attention to urban typography during a photographic walk near the MEP. This exploration of the city in search of letters offers us as many opportunities to sharpen our eyes and practice new points of view as it does to concretely approach notions of framing, light, and graphic composition. The aim will not be to photograph letters already present on signs, panels, or shop windows, but to spot in the urban environment — architecture, street furniture, everyday objects, markings, or details of the city — forms that evoke letters of the alphabet. This playful approach invites us to observe our living environment differently and to reveal the letters hidden within the shapes that surround us. Then, children and their parents will be invited to compose a word by associating the images gathered from this collection of vowels and consonants. To form this word, they will carry out graphic work based on the photographs pooled together and experiment with their creativity through surprising visual compositions. This workshop offers families a different way of looking at the city. Together, we will explore the close links and influences that exist between words and images in our understanding of the world around us.
