an exhibition of plates from the album by Capucine Mazille as part of the special event "Manger, être mangé" The exhibition "Bon appétit les animaux !" invites you to discover the world of illustrator Capucine Mazille through a selection of original watercolours illustrating the eponymous documentary album written by Françoise Laurent. What do animals eat in the forest, the savannah or the depths of the seas? To find out, open your eyes wide! Wolves have pointed teeth, rabbits nibble with their incisors and birds peck with their beaks. Capucine Mazille draws all these animals in the middle of a meal. Her watercolour paintings show the real life of nature, but always with a touch of humour and a great deal of tenderness. Capucine Mazille was born in Pays-Bas. Her father was a painter and illustrator, and she never thought of doing anything other than inventing imaginary worlds with her brushes. By hand, the old-fashioned way, because she loves the feel of paper, the smell of pencils and that of paint. Her drawings have been exhibited in France, in Pays-Bas, in Suisse and in États-Unis. As a children's author-illustrator, she has published a great many books: tales, school books, stories in the press, comic strips, as well as scientific and animal documentaries, notably with éditions du Ricochet.
