In echo to his exhibition « pays des merveilles », at the MEP Studio, the library welcomes Nanténé Traoré, artist and author. Nanténé Traoré pays particular attention to the material dimension of the image and works exclusively with analogue photography. In addition to his photographic work, he writes essays, poetry and even theatre. Through words as much as through images, he thus develops the same way of telling stories and bringing them to light. He will talk to us about his approach to the book, nourished by his experience as a self-publisher (You’ll come back soon enough, 2023). He will also discuss the making of the fanzine MEP x Mörel Books, which accompanies his current exhibition. Why publish, how to adapt one's work to a paper medium such as the book? What editing, what layout choices?
