"Deux métiers, deux photographes" : une exposition itinérante sur les grilles des jardins

A look at the gardeners and tree climbers/pruners of Parisian green spaces, a traveling photo exhibition currently on view on the railings of the école Du Breuil Two photographers Frédéric Combeau and Sonia Yassa are photographers for the Ville de Paris. They produce reportages and respond to image commissions on themes related to green spaces and the environment. During their assignments, they meet and observe professionals in the field. Here, they offer their singular vision. Frédéric Combeau presents a black-and-white view of gardeners in their environment. Sonia Yassa chooses to present a color reportage on the various tasks of tree climbers/pruners, into which two photos by Frédéric Combeau are integrated. Two professions: gardener and tree climber/pruner of Parisian green spaces Embellishing the urban landscape More than 1,000 gardeners work daily, using sustainable management methods, for the upkeep and embellishment of the 2,300 hectares of green heritage of the Ville de Paris: nearly 550 parks and gardens, and flowerbeds. Planting and caring for trees With more than 200,000 trees planted in the streets, green spaces and municipal facilities, not to mention more than 300,000 trees in the bois de Boulogne and Vincennes, tree climbers/pruners play an essential role for well-being in the city.
