Maison de l'animal en ville - Jane Goodall

An exhibition by the Maison de l'animal to reflect on the place of animals in our culture. For its week devoted to the theme "animaux et culture," the Maison de l'animal addresses several subjects. First of all, the subject of knowledge with the exhibition of large-format plates taken from the work « Voyages extraordinaires au Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle », by Nicolas Gilsoul and Jacques Cuisin. This journey through time and space at the heart of the Museum's collections questions us about the acquisition of knowledge and its transmission, as well as our impact on the environment and the disappearance of species. Three associations denounce the suffering of animals dedicated to shows: - Projet Animaux Zoopolis (PAZ) campaigns for the end of the exploitation of birds of prey during medieval festivals, before their ban, planned for 2028 by the 2021 law against animal cruelty, comes into effect. PAZ presents a selection of works created by various artists as part of their mobilization campaign. - COLBAC denounces the cruelty of bullfights: its exhibition is composed of informative elements about bullfights, an opportunity to discover how they unfold and understand the suffering inflicted on bulls. - Code Animal denounces the mistreatment suffered by wild animals in circuses, and ensures that the measures of the law passed in 2021 are respected. In his album Pauvres bêtes ! Voyage au cœur de la condition animale, Coco also bears witness to performing animals. Plates from his book are also on display.
