[Exposition] Revoir les Nuages - Un réemploi collectif des vitrages des Tours Nuages

This exhibition aims to bring back to life the glass panes of the emblematic “sage leaf” windows of the Tours Nuages in Nanterre. Installed on the ground floor of one of the Tours Nuages, it highlights this architectural ensemble by Émile Aillaud, labeled Patrimoine du XXe siècle, which is currently undergoing extensive renovation. On the occasion of Paris Design Week 2026, the Journées Européennes du Patrimoine, and the urban renewal program of the Parc Sud neighborhood in Nanterre, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal is joining forces with designers and architects Anaïs Fernon, Clémence Bondon, and Camille Sardet, as well as local cultural institutions, to present a collective exhibition. Bringing together 13 creators, artists, designers, and architects committed to valuing discarded materials, “Revoir les Nuages” will present a collection of original works created from the old windows, giving them a second life and a new use. At the end of the exhibition, and after its deployment in other institutions in Nanterre, notably La Terrasse espace d’art and the Conseil d’architecture, d’urbanisme et de l’environnement des Hauts-de-Seine (CAUE92), the works will be donated to local organizations. For the Pavillon de l’Arsenal and its partners, this is also an opportunity to retrace the history, and question the memory, of these towers, which are part of Nanterre’s architectural heritage. In this large housing estate designed by architect Émile Aillaud in 1973, the “sage leaf” cutout embodies the desire to bring poetry as close as possible to residents. In keeping with the collaboration with mural artist Fabio Rieti for the colorful mosaics on the façades, and with Laurence Rieti for the monumental sculpture “Serpent,” the exhibition “Revoir les Nuages” seeks to continue this legacy of collective creation and contribute to the vitality of this unique neighborhood. Ahead of its launch and throughout its duration, a full program of activities and events will be organized around the exhibition with local cultural partners — La Terrasse espace d’art, the CAUE92, and neighborhood associations and residents.
