With [IN]IMAGINABLE, Fluctuart offers an immersion into the imaginaries stemming from lowbrow and pop surrealism. Conceived as an accessible introduction to these artistic movements, the exhibition traces their origins, their influences and their contemporary extensions through a selection of works, cult objects and site-specific installations. Visitors move through different spaces inspired by the underground cultures that shaped the movement: comics, skate culture, art toys, concert posters, fantastic cinema or alternative illustration. Through this dialogue between historical references and contemporary creations, the exhibition reveals the lasting influence of these aesthetics on our collective imagination. Original works and editions by major artists of the international scene such as Ron English, Todd Schorr, Jeff Soto, Travis Louie, Tara McPherson or Dave Cooper stand alongside the immersive installations of contemporary artists invited to take over the space, among them Amandine Urruty, Benjamin Lacombe, Marco Mazzoni, Stan Manoukian, Stom500 and Veks Van Hillik. Between a contemporary cabinet of curiosities and an initiatory journey, [IN]IMAGINABLE invites you to explore a territory where reality tips over into fiction, where childhood meets the strange, and where popular images become the vehicle for a free and subversive imagination.
