The Hôtel de Ville is yours! On the occasion of the 43rd edition of the Journées européennes du patrimoine, the Hôtel de Ville de Paris opens its doors to the public. A unique opportunity to discover behind the scenes of one of the capital's most emblematic monuments. On the weekend of 19 and 20 September, visitors will be able to discover the office of the Maire de Paris, the salle du Conseil de Paris, the library, as well as the prestigious ceremonial reception rooms. This visit will also be an opportunity to meet those whose mission is to watch over the preservation of this exceptional heritage every day: locksmiths and clockmakers, upholsterers and parquet floor layers, chandelier specialists and florists. Heritage professions will be particularly honoured through the presence of historians, curators, archaeologists, stone cutters and marble workers. All will share their commitment to the conservation, restoration and promotion of Parisian heritage. Numerous exhibitions to discoverThroughout the visitor route, exhibitions will retrace the history of the Hôtel de Ville de Paris and highlight the major heritage projects currently being carried out by the Ville. A space dedicated to matrimoine will also invite visitors to rediscover the place of women in public space through Parisian statuary. The bicentenary of photography honouredAs part of the bicentenary of photography, the public will have access to an exceptional selection of old photographs, postcards, books and technical documents from the collections of the Archives de Paris and the ten heritage and specialised libraries of the Ville. The 400 years of the Marine nationale celebratedAs 2026 also marks the 400th anniversary of the Marine nationale and the 25th anniversary of the sponsorship of the aircraft carrier Charles-de-Gaulle by the Ville de Paris, a model of the famous ship will be presented at the Hôtel de Ville. "Fabriqué à Paris" artisans in the spotlightAt Paris la Boutique, two exhibitions dedicated to artisans of the "Fabriqué à Paris" label will showcase photography and design. The creations on display, as well as a selection of products from the Ville de Paris brand, will be available to the public throughout the weekend. To accompany the public in this discovery, mediators from the École du Louvre will be present throughout the visitor route to share their knowledge and answer visitors' questions. A reception arrangement adapted for people with disabilities will also be offered, in partnership with the association Action Passeraile. Reservations -free and compulsory- will open on 9 September.
