Les alchimistes du design
Galerie 3F

Two former biology researchers turned art craftsmen present concrete jewellery and high-end leather goods at the Galerie 3F in Montmartre, nourished by the Bauhaus aesthetic. Two creators, trained in the rigour of the laboratory, present jewellery and high-end leather goods, nourished by the Bauhaus aesthetic. Before working with matter, they observed cells, molecules, studied geometry. Nathalie de Parseval and Friedrich Rippmann, both researchers, traded the lab bench for the workshop, without ever abandoning method: experimentation, precision of gesture, the obsession with structure. It is this almost scientific approach, applied to matter and form, that gives the exhibition its title: «Les Alchimistes du Design». Nathalie de Parseval fashions contemporary jewellery in which geometric lines and the interplay of volumes and light directly recall the principles of the Bauhaus: simplicity, function, harmony of forms. Friedrich Rippmann, for his part, creates high-end leather goods in which the same constructive rigour is found in the cutting and assembling of the leather. Brought together for the second time in a joint exhibition, the two art craftsmen offer a dialogue between two forms of expertise, carried by a shared conviction: one must listen to matter before shaping it.
