The excellence of Japanese craftsmanship, coming soon to Paris. On Monday 26 October next, in Paris, the exhibition "Miyagi Atelier Selection" will be held, presenting various artisans from Miyagi. ; Credits: Miyagi Atelier Selection Nestled in the northeast of Japan, along the Pacific coastline and bordered by the mountains of Zao, the Miyagi prefecture is home to an exceptional artisanal heritage. Generation after generation, its inhabitants have shaped unique techniques, drawn from their natural environment and carefully passed down. Lacquered pieces adorned with fine layers of silver, tableware carved from stone, baskets woven from wild vine, or hand-hammered copper objects… each creation tells the story of artisans who elevate local resources through meticulous work. A warmth and authenticity specific to handmade work, hardly perceptible in mass-produced products, can be found in each of these pieces. We are organising the exhibition "Miyagi Atelier Selection" in order to introduce the craftsmanship of Miyagi to the French general public. Come and discover up close the richness and diversity of the artisanal know-how developing in Japan's rural regions. The particularities of Miyagi Atelier Selection Discovery of Japanese know-how still little known to the world The 10 companies present have rarely, if ever, taken part in events abroad. They therefore embody Japanese know-how that is little known to the French. Glass, metal, wood, stone… You will be able to discover creations drawing on a great diversity of materials and traditional techniques. This event offers the opportunity to discover, in exclusivity, Japanese artisanal know-how still little present in France. Meeting the artisans The event gives you the opportunity to exchange in person with the Japanese professionals who create and make these pieces. Beyond catalogues and virtual contacts, Miyagi Atelier Selection offers a privileged encounter with the creators, an opportunity to hear their story and to perceive their know-how up close.
