At the invitation of the Ambassade des Pays-Bas en France, the Design Museum Den Bosch presents, from 10 to 18 September, a selection from its Posthuman collection at the Atelier Néerlandais, as part of Paris Design Week. On this occasion, the Atelier Néerlandais welcomes one of the most avant-garde design museums in the Netherlands. This presentation offers a first glimpse of the Posthuman collection, in which designers explore the boundaries between the human being, technology and nature. The Design Museum Den Bosch presents around thirty remarkable pieces of jewellery, video installations, photographs and spectacular wearable objects, created notably by Bart Hess, Lakea Shepard, Loan Favan (Naula_Studio) and Neri Oxman. Posthuman The Posthuman collection at the Design Museum Den Bosch is a forward-looking sub-collection that has been actively built up since 2017. It consists of futuristic products that challenge the traditional relationship between the human being and the body, technology and nature. The collection was conceived as a logical extension of the museum's large collection of modern jewellery. Whereas jewellery was once purely decorative, according to the museum, it has now become a technological extension of the body. The objects collected include wearable items, but also designs, photographs and films. They include not only commercial products, but also speculative projects. The museum thus holds the world's first museum collection specifically devoted to this philosophical and technological theme. In 2028, the Design Museum Den Bosch will organise a major exhibition on this theme.
