The Ateliers de Paris gallery presents the exhibition « Multiples, penser l’objet en série », bringing together around fifteen designers around the question of the design and production of serial objects. Born in the wake of the industrial revolution, serial manufacturing long carried the promise of standardized and economical production. Faced with the ecological, economic and social challenges of our time, the multiplication of objects surrounding us questions our capacity to face future instability. The exhibition Multiples gives space to around fifteen designers who seek to rethink their relationship to the series. Repurposing of know-how, dialogues with publishing houses, domestication of industrial processes, self-production, differentiated series: the projects presented experiment with new models to weave connections more attentive to environments, gestures and resources. Taking up the codes of the workspace and serial production, the scenography unfolds throughout the gallery in the form of an assembly line. The works engage in dialogue there with production elements displayed on the walls, complemented by strip curtains that extend the industrial imagination.
