As part of the Retrospective “William Klein: Films, etc.”, this special screening invites you to discover William Klein's film L'anniversaire de Charlotte, in the presence of Charlotte Lévy-Markovitch. L'anniversaire de Charlotte Directed by William Klein, 25 minutes, 1974 With Charlotte Levy, Coline Sereau, Roland Topor. “A super-eight anarcho film for Kodak” (Charlotte) Charlotte, twelve years old, wants to throw a birthday party for herself and her friends but has no money. Her older sister (Coline Serreau) tells her “society steals from us, you might as well steal too.” Charlotte puts this good advice into practice. The film ends with a gigantic party. Charlotte Lévy-Markovitch played the title character in this film by William Klein. She later appeared in Le couple Témoin, and has remained very faithful to William Klein's world. She has pursued an artistic and literary career. She notably directed for the theatre Evguénie Sokolov by Serge Gainsbourg and published Ça va aller, ça va aller, ça va aller… with éditions Hinstin.
