Galerie, a contemporary photography gallery in the 16th arrondissement, presents LA F.AI.M, an exhibition by British photographer Rankin on what artificial intelligence does to the desire to create. A. Galerie, a contemporary photography gallery located at 4 rue Léonce Reynaud in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, presents LA F.AI.M, a new exhibition by British artist and photographer Rankin, from 10 September to 24 October 2026. The title borrows from the French word « faim » [hunger]: the exhibition questions the force that drives an artist to create — desire, curiosity, obsession, the irrepressible need to produce — at a time when artificial intelligence can generate almost any image. In recent years, Rankin has immersed himself in generative AI and has produced several thousand images, constituting one of the largest bodies of generative photographic work created by a contemporary photographer. The exhibition ranges across portraiture, sculpture, fashion, mythology, religion and art history, and poses a simple question: what remains human when everyone can generate an image? For Rankin, the answer does not lie in the final image, but in the desire that gave rise to it. Opening on Thursday 10 September 2026 from 7pm to 10pm. Hours: Monday to Friday from 10am to 1pm and 3pm to 7pm, Saturday from 12pm to 7pm.
