Rencontre-visite avec Martine Dawson et Laurie Hurwitz, suivie d’une session de signature

The MEP invites you to a visit of the exhibition Martine Dawson — Faultlines, in the Studio space, in the presence of the artist and Laurie Hurwitz, curator of the exhibition. A signing session is scheduled at the bookshop starting at 6:30pm. This meeting offers the public the opportunity to speak directly with Martine Dawson, and to discover her work presented at the MEP Studio. Arising from a research project supported by a grant from the Cnap, the exhibition Faultlines brings together a photographic series devoted to the houses of Butte, a former mining town in Montana, where the domestic space retains the traces of a territory shaped by copper mining and the imaginary of the American conquest of the West. Through photographs of interiors, exteriors and everyday details, Martine Dawson explores the links between territory, memory and habitat. By combining contemporary images and archives, the exhibition reveals the house as a surface of memory where temporalities and narratives overlap. The visit is followed by a signing session at the bookshop starting at 6:30pm.
