Spectacle : Bestioles
MAIF Social Club

Bestioles is a participatory form intended for children aged 4 and up and their companions. In a shared play space, an artist tells his story. With small ordinary things, he invites you to invent your own bestioles in an experience inspired by Art Brut. Sasha, artist, tells you his story: when he was a child, he gathered and collected everything that appealed to him for its shape, color, or texture, without worrying about the usefulness of the thing he was collecting. His room had become a veritable museum of "stuff and thingamajigs." Before you, Sasha presents his objects and tells why he loved them. He thus encourages children to discover the beauty of a small spoon, a paperclip, or a dust bunny. With the objects, he then creates a first bestiole: an atypical creature, a monstrous or endearing chimera. He then invites each person to create their own bestiole from the objects made available to them. Accompanied by the performer, the children handle, assemble, and transform the objects. Little by little, the space fills with these singular forms.
