Sur les rivages d'Asie

Rosemary Taleb-Rivière, illustrator and author, recounts the power of the elements and the beauty of the lives that depend on them. A sensitive tribute to a planet shaped and celebrated by ancestral cultures. In our Éphémère Galerie de Comptoir des Voyages on rue Saint-Victor in Paris, discover Sur les rivages d'Asie, an exhibition by the artist Rosemary Taleb-Rivière. Fascinated by the encounter between cultural heritage and living landscapes, she traveled across Asia over several months of journeying. Between shores and volcanoes, her ink drawings recount the power of the elements and the beauty of the lives that depend on them, in a sensitive tribute to a planet shaped and celebrated by ancestral cultures. Rosemary Taleb-Rivière discovered China during her art history studies. She traveled there several times starting in 2013. Her 2019 journey gave birth to her first sketchbook, the starting point of a calling: drawing others in black ink, a style that has become her artistic signature. Since then, between literary and artistic projects, exhibitions and festivals, she continues this dialogue with the world. This exhibition traces a body of ink work created over nine months of travel. Six months following the coasts from Thailand to Japan in 2023, then three months of hiking on active and dormant volcanoes of the Japanese archipelago in 2025. Having set out to encounter cultures, it is ultimately the charm of blue horizons and the richness of Nature that become the main subject. An ode to our planet, cherished by ancestral cultures. Come admire or acquire the works. The artist, present throughout the exhibition, will be delighted to discuss them with you.
