USA 250 : le programme

This year, the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of its Declaration of Independence, with a highlight on July 4th, the American national holiday. Two and a half centuries later, the Ville de Paris celebrates this bond between our two peoples through a summer program open to all. These celebrations, in which sport will be honored, take place exactly halfway between the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and those to be held in 2028 in Los Angeles. Program Illumination of the tour Eiffel To open the festivities, the tour Eiffel will be dressed in the colors of the event on Friday July 3rd in the evening, starting at 11 p.m. Sport in the spotlight Flag football introduction - Saturday July 4th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. - parc Rives de Seine (Paris Centre) Organized with the Fédération française de football américain, this free activity open to all is an opportunity to discover this practice, which will be an Olympic discipline for the first time at the Jeux olympiques de Los Angeles 2028. NBA Summer House - From July 31st to August 2nd, at the Palais Brongniart (Paris Centre). This is the first French edition of the event, co-organized by the NBA and the fédération française de basket-ball, free and accessible upon pre-registration. Exhibitions in public spaces "Coney Island" - Presented from July 4th to 30th on the Berges de Seine, right bank. An exhibition paying tribute to the iconic Brooklyn beach. "Plages urbaines : USA" - Photographs captured by National Geographic photographers. Presented from July 4th to August 30th on the Berges de Seine (Paris Centre). "Paris, USA" - Presented from July 15th to August 30th, on the gates of the Hôtel de Ville (Paris Centre). A nod to American cities named "Paris". Two exhibitions organized by the ambassade des États-Unis d'Amérique en France: Exposition Paris Match - A retrospective devoted to Franco-American friendship through news photographs — starting July 1st in the square located on the place des Etats-Unis (16e). Aquarelles de Marielle Durand - Paintings devoted to Philadelphia, cradle of American independence, presented alongside the exposition Paris Match - starting July 1st in the square located on the place des Etats-Unis (16e). Temporary exhibition at the musée Carnavalet "1776-2026 : 250 ans d'amitié franco-américaine" - From December 16, 2025 to September 27, 2026, at the musée Carnavalet (Paris Centre), free and accessible to all. A display within the permanent collections of the museum of the history of Paris, illustrating the friendship between Paris and Philadelphia, the first capital of the United States. New Orleans brass band at the Carnaval Tropical de Paris For its 26th edition, the Carnaval Tropical makes its way up the Champs-Élysées (8e) on Sunday July 5th, celebrating the Outre-mer territories and cultures of the world. Echoing America 250, a brass band from New Orleans will bring the sounds of Louisiana's second line, Cha Wa accompanied by the group New Orleans French Connection — a musical link between France and America, from French Louisiana to shared Creole roots.
