A window open onto the queer, pop, and immigrant gaze of an Argentine artist-musician, as part of the Pride festival. POP immigrART is an autobiographical exhibition about the life of musician and immigrant artist MëLL. “Pop culture occupies an important place in my life, both in my music and in my visual aesthetic. It’s a universe in which I naturally recognize myself. I have always been drawn to saturated colors and visual and sonic impact. This exhibition brings together photographs that I have digitally retouched and transformed, corresponding to different periods of my life. They tell the story of my journey since the moment I decided to leave my hometown, Tucumán, to head toward new horizons in Europe. Each country I have lived in has given me something different and has helped shape the person I am today. A large part of the photographs presented here were taken by Paula Delic. Today, I am opening a door onto my universe for you: that of the little POPboy from Tucumán who one day set off in search of something more.” The exhibition can be seen from November 2 to 27, during the opening hours of the centre Paris Anim' Bessie Smith.
